Famous popular medical work translated by Jean-Denis Duplanil from the tenth London edition. Buchan's vast five-volume treatise, "within everyone's reach", enables readers to identify and cure their ailments. The last two volumes are a supplement by Jean-Frédéric Herrenschwand in the same vein, including a vast repertory of prescriptions. Ex-libris crossed out on the title page of the first volume. A copy without its frontispiece, which remains in fine condition.
