Spine ribbed and decorated with gilt fleurons and caissons. XX+(2 f.)+390 pages, 41 copper-engraved plates, most of them folding, engraved title page and portrait of the author. Text in Latin. Missing upper headpiece, spine worn, corners rounded, rubbing with missing lower cut. First hinge open. Margins of plates sometimes a little faded. A very fine illustrated edition of the complete works of Régnier de Graaf, a Dutch physician. It compiles the known works of this master anatomist (1641-1673), a pioneer in the study of the reproductive system. In addition to an engraved title page and portrait of the author, it is richly illustrated with 41 anatomical plates.
