First edition of this work by Jean Goulin (1728-1799), an encyclopedist specializing in medical history. Jean Goulin published this work after two very bad years, which left him penniless; the success of these memoirs ensured him honor and renown in scientific circles, but did not allow his household to become comfortably established. Our copy consists of sixteen uncut leaves forming 128 pages, contained in a later portefolio imitating a binding. Overall in very good condition; a few freckles inside, but still bright.
