RANBY, (John). Méthode de traiter les plaies d'arme-à-feu. Published in Paris by Durand in 1745. In-12 format. Havana basane, smooth spine decorated with gilded fleurons, red edges. XII+116 pages. Partially split jaws, some foxing. French translation of this treatise by English surgeon John Ranby (1703-1773) setting out a method for treating wounds caused by firearms. He served at the court of King George II and contributed to the distinction made between the professions of barber and surgeon. Note the handsome engraving on the title page. A good copy.
