SCEVE, Maurice. Choix des textes. - Lot 109
SCEVE, Maurice. Choix des textes. Published in Paris by GLM in 1947. In octavo / In-8 paperback, in flap cover, uncut. 75 pages. Spine and top edges of boards yellowed. A collection of texts by the great medieval poet Maurice Scève, prefaced by Albert Béguin. Limited edition of 900 copies, this one of 865 on vélin du Marais, no. 652. It is announced that this edition was produced in memory of the author and "his perfect editor Bertrand Guégan, who died in a German prison. Both victims of inhuman times". Guégan in fact died in 1943. A fine tribute to letters and their promoters through the ages.
