Green speckled basane, smooth spine adorned with horizontal gilt fillets and scrolls, red leather title-piece, gilt fleurons on the caissons, gilt fillet at the edges, guilloche-trimmed headpieces, speckled edges. 2 ff.n.ch., XVIII, 530 pages ; 2 ff.nn.ch., 430 pages, 3 ff.n.ch., one folding plate. Spines uniformly sunned, covers, edges and corners rubbed, spotting on second volume (head of first plate, foot of second). First edition. Then a hospital physician, Dr. Rostan decided to open a hygiene course for his medical students, which was quite revolutionary for the time. We have here the edited version. Oberlé, 461.
