YVES SAINT-LAURENT by Roger Vivier - Lot 223
YVES SAINT-LAURENT by Roger Vivier
Pair of "Belle Vivier" pumps with high heels (10 cm) and patinated metal buckle, in black patent leather on the outside and matte red leather on the inside.
Size shown: 8.5 cm (41 approx.)
(Patent alterations, never worn).
Roger Vivier launched its first buckle creation at Yves Saint-Laurent's Mondrian tribute fashion show in 1966. In 1967, Catherine Deneuve immortalized buckled shoes in Luis Bunuel's film "Belle de jour", thus becoming the "Belles Vivier". Iconic, they were worn by the most elegant women of the time, including Jacqueline Kennedy, Hélène Rochas and Marlène Dietrich.
