In publisher's printed slipcase. 332 p., 1 double-page composition and 6 full-page; 98 p. Wrapper somewhat worn, not serious. Superb edition of this famous medieval poetic work. Complete with its translation volume given by Pierre Marteau in 1878 (in-4, half tan basane). Limited edition of 1202 copies, numbered on chiffon de Lana (n°704). The illustration by André Hubert, master glassmaker and artist known for his illumination work, comprises a large double-page composition, fifteen vignettes in the text and six full-page compositions. The text, printed in the typeface of Jehan du Pré's incunable edition, is decorated on each page with a floral frame in the spirit of the Books of Hours. Letter from the illustrator on the title page. Charming, meticulous edition. The set is set in a publisher's binding with embossed decoration and a bas-relief imitating ivory on the front cover.
