England, London, late 18th - early 19th century: set of three mechanical movements, two of them tilting, two without dials and all three without hands, all with Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals for the minutes, banded chemin de fer indexes, two with heeled cocks and one with stapled cocks, all chased and pierced, verge escapements, chains and fusees. Signed Dolphin, Samson (dial centered with a polychrome port motif in the Dutch style), Cabrier (other mechanisms by Charles Cabrier in the Metropolitan Museum, New York). Diameter from left to right on digital plates: 3.4 cm; 4.1 cm; 4.3 cm. As is.
