[DADA]. Dada Africa: Dialogue with the Other. - Lot 260

[DADA]. Dada Africa: Dialogue with the Other. Berlin, Scheidegger und Spiess, 2016. In-4, publisher's boards, first cover illustrated in color. 243 pages, numerous black and color illustrations in and out of text. Binding very slightly scuffed and faded. A richly illustrated catalog published to coincide with the 2016 exhibitions at Zürich's Museum Rietberg, representing one of the first studies of the Dadaists' exploration of non-European art and culture. Richly illustrated ethnological essays highlight the cultural context of objects from Africa, Asia and Oceania. Among the works presented are those by Jean Arp, Hugo Ball, George Grosz, Raoul Hausmann, Hannah Höch, Man Ray, Sophie Taeuber-Arp and Tristan Tzara. A very good copy.
