[EMPIRE - NAPOLEON]. Journal de l'Empire - Journal of political and literary debates. 90 issues. Paris, Journal des Débats, 1813 to 1814. Large in-4, orange boards. Approx. 350 pages. Heavily worn boards, spine partially detached, paper missing and stained. Some foxing. Non-continuous suite. Reunion of 90 issues of this daily journal of opinion running from September 1813 to June 1814. Our first 19 issues bear the title "Journal de l'Empire", imposed by Napoleon in 1805 when the journal opposed the Emperor; subsequent issues bear the name "Journal des débats politiques et littéraires", recovered during the First Restoration. A vast collection, a fine overview of a turbulent political climate.
