Catalog of the eponymous exhibition, the first major exhibition on the art and culture of the Urhobo people, who occupy the western fringe of the Niger River delta in southern Nigeria. The catalog presents around 80 works of art, some dating from the historic period 1850-1975, including monumental wooden figures, metal and clay sculptures, masks and costumes accompanied by poems and songs, as well as a small selection of contemporary works by Bruce Onobrakpeya, an Urhobo by birth and one of Africa's greatest artists.
