An ethnographic work on Africa by Leo Frobenius, a self-taught German ethnologist who formulated the theory of the African Atlantis, according to which the sculptures at Ife, Nigeria, did not originate from medieval Yoruba culture, but from contacts between the Atlantis civilization and these people. It was during his expedition from 1910 to 1912 that this theory emerged in his mind. He describes it in great detail in this book, whose title refers to the visionary impulse of Nietzsche's Zarathustra.
