Imposing early 19th-century Angevin missal in full red calf, richly decorated with liturgical scores. Andegavi (Angers), Charles Mame, 1826. In-folio, full red calf, ribbed spine, decorated with stamped and gilded fleurons and gilded spandrels, richly decorated boards with multiple interlocking garlands and lace frames and large stamped Romantic irons in the center, gilded roulette on the edges, gilded floral garland on the endpapers, gilded edges. 620 - 36 - CXV pp. 1 f.n.ch., one burin engraving. In Latin. Some rubbing from use, four small wormholes in the first box, discreet black spots on both covers, wetness at the bottom of the first few pages and some browned pages, a few unevenly distributed freckles. Imposing altar missal containing the text recited by the priest at Mass and several sections of sheet music, typical of traditional Gregorian chant. Very fine full-page engraving of a Christ on the Cross after a model by Charles Lebrun (1619-1690). An unusual copy in good condition.
