Collection of nine Brussels editions of plays performed by the Académie de Musique at the Théâtre de la Monnaie between 1714 and 1716. Desmarets' "Vénus et Adonis", based on a libretto by Rousseau, is followed by plays by Lefranc de Pompignan, Destouches and Mouret. Each play was published by François Foppens, a Brussels printer who succeeded his father of the same name in 1689 and inherited the privilege of printing plays and operas performed at La Monnaie.
The set is introduced by a frontispiece engraved by Harrewyn and embellished with woodcut title vignettes and ornaments.
