[COCTEAU]. Facsimile of the Revue Le Coq. - Lot 91
[COCTEAU]. Facsimile of the Revue Le Coq.
5 issues of this effervescent poetic and musical review.
Les Mureaux, C.F.Mureaux, 1990.
5 in-4 fold-outs, in flap covers.
Cover slightly torn and darkened at lower margin.
Excellent facsimile of five issues of the famous poetic and musical review "Le Coq", then "Le Coq parisien", edited by Jean Cocteau and Raymond Radiguet from March to November 1920. One of 30 hand-numbered copies of the first edition (no. 10), without the facsimile of Paul Morand's bill to Jean Cocteau.
This reprint, complete with the 4 issues published during the magazine's 8-month lifespan, contains the very first issue, no. 1, dated April 1, 1920, which Cocteau rejected on proof. It included Radiguet's incisive article "après le cubisme dada, après dada, la ligue antimoderne", which appeared in the definitive issue 1 of May 1920 under the title "Depuis 1789 on me force à penser. It gives me a headache".
A pleasant, uncommon copy.
