In-4, blond half-cornered morocco, spine-ribs underlined by a gilt chain and framed in cold, wide gilt ribbons to the entrenerfs, gilt lettering, gilt head, untrimmed. Binding signed Lefort. 659 pp, 1 frontispiece, 94 plates and almost 400 drawings in the text, headers and tailpieces. Minimal scuffing on leather, very rare and minor foxing. First edition of this delightful work on wine by the famous illustrator Bertall (1820-1882), printed on vellum and illustrated in the first edition with 95 plates and nearly 400 drawings in the text.
