Coquebert, 1838. 2 volumes in-8, full cherry glazed calf, smooth spines with gilt romantic irons throughout, gilt filleting and framing irons to boards, guilloche headpieces, gilt filleting to edges, gilt roulette to edges, gilt edges. VIII, 339 pages; 429 pages. Overall binding rubbed, spine faded, corners slightly dulled, brown spots. First edition (fictitious mention of "fourth edition") of this epic poem recounting the love of an angel for a mortal enslaved by giants. Label of the François bookshop in Rouen on the flyleaf of the first volume. [Vicaire, IV, 980]. Good, well-bound copies.
