* Émile GALLÉ (1846-1904). - Lot 106
* Émile GALLÉ (1846-1904).
Rare trompe l'oeil piece featuring an earthenware fisherman's basket with polychrome enameled painted decoration of a scene of fishermen pushing a boat in a seascape worthy of Joseph Vernet or Lacroix de Marseille.
Handwritten signature on reverse, circa 1890.
D. 34 × 21 cm.
Incredible piece imagined by the artist as a fisherman's creel; the edges reproducing a canvas or net, stretched over branches, with a cord around the handle.
