Limited edition of 300 copies, this one being one of the first 150 on Japanese paper or vellum (No. 9 on vellum), with 3 states of the plates (pure etching, before the letter, and with the letter). A precious copy enhanced with two charming original color watercolors, one of which is a full-page illustration signed by A. Robaudi (approx. 110x170 mm), and the other placed as a title vignette, signed with his monogram A.R. (50x55mm). It is further enriched by the publisher’s illustrated subscription bulletin (2 leaves bound at the end). From the libraries of Dr. H. Stilling, with his ex-libris vignette engraved on Chinese paper mounted on a tab, and of A. de Marchena, with his heraldic ex-libris on the flyleaf. Striking binding signed "Chambolle Duru," a collaboration between two great names from the golden age of bookbinding: René Victor Chambolle (1834–1898) and Hippolyte Duru (1803–1884).
