DRIEU LA ROCHELLE, Pierre. Geneva or Moscow. - Lot 172
DRIEU LA ROCHELLE, Pierre. Geneva or Moscow. Paris, Gallimard - Nrf, 1928. In-4 Tellière paperback, two-tone printed cover. 268 pp. Spine slightly browned and some foxing on the edges. First edition, one of 109 reprints in the in-quarto Tellière format, numbered on Lafuma-Navarre laid paper; among these is one of the 100 “C” copies inscribed for NRF bibliophiles (no. LI -51- for Maurice Xoual). In this political essay, Drieu de La Rochelle (1893–1945) contrasts the internationalist ideal of the League of Nations with the revolutionary allure of the Soviet model. A fine copy.
