A rare British edition, in French, published in the same year as the original. London, Edward Churton and J. B. Baillière, 1835. 2 vols. in-12, beige-brown calfskin, ribbed spine, panels outlined with gilt fillets, purple and bottle-green title labels, triple gilt fillet stamped on the covers with gilt fleurons in the corners, gilt roulette on the raised and recessed areas, blue marbled edges. VIII–428 pp. and 412 pp., two identical frontispieces in the form of fold-out maps of the Near East. Spines restored, some rubbing, foxing on the white endpapers and the spines of the frontispieces. British edition published the same year as the original of this travelogue by Alphonse de Lamartine, here complete in 2 volumes. Good copies in fair condition.
