In-12, full teal morocco leather decorated with a mosaic-style geometric pattern composed of cream and burgundy morocco squares on the covers and a burgundy rectangle on the smooth spine with the author’s name and title gilded at the bottom, the whole highlighted by gold and silver fillets, interior edging in the same duck-blue morocco lined with a burgundy morocco fillet, cream vellum endpapers, burgundy moiré silk endpapers, double endpapers, gilded fillet along the edges, guilloché caps, gilded head, untrimmed, covers and spine preserved. Binding signed V. Ollivier and Y. Letonturier. 254 pp. Spine sun-faded, some minor wear and tear, paper browned at the margins. First edition of the only collection of short stories by Anna de Noailles (1876–1933), which, through 15 autobiographically inspired texts, constructs a poetic variation on romantic relationships.
