JOB. Tea Set. The Great War—drawings by Job. A charming tea set decorated with polychrome illustrations by Job on the theme of the Great War. Limoges, A. Lanternie & Cie, 1917. Visible restoration at the base and a chip under the lid of the large teapot; a small chip and crack on one cup. Tea set comprising six cups (55 x 100 mm), a large teapot with lid (150 x 200 mm), a sugar bowl with lid, and a milk jug. It is decorated with polychrome illustrations by Job, whose real name was Jacques Onfroy de Bréville (1858–1931), depicting soldiers in the trenches during the Great War. The mark “A. Lanternier et Cie” appears on the bottom of each piece; this was a famous Limoges porcelain manufacturer founded in the 19th century, which marketed this series in 1917. In excellent condition.
